For those who don't know, ESSO is a brand of gasoline found mostly on the east coast and all over the world but I've never seen it in our mid-west or west coast. When I was stationed in Germany I learned about an unusual kind of bee that actually liked buzzing around gas stations and sniffing around the gas pumps. One day I was driving down a freeway when I noticed a dark cloud right above me. It was moving with me as I went down the road. I looked up to examine it further and realized it was a very large swarm of bees following my car. Ahead of me I could see two gas stations. One was a Texaco on the left side of the road and the other was an ESSO on the right. When we got there all the bees except one left me and flew over to the texaco for a sniff. The one lone bee went to the ESSO station on the right. The lesson I learned was clear, that in any large group there is always one ESSO Bee.
